MOPS: A Gathering for Mothers of Preschoolers
Every Tuesday morning we host the MOPS program at Hope UMC. MOPS is a fun group for moms to get to come together in community. Each MOPS meeting includes child care for the kiddos while moms enjoy fellowship and food together. Take time to meet and connect with other local moms in the same season of life you are.
Joining MOPS requires a once a year $30 fee that covers expenses of membership.
Also, we know MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers - but you're welcome to join regardless of the age of your child. Our volunteer childcare workers are happy to care for kids of all ages!
The MOPS mission statement is:
“At MOPS, we gather and support moms. We believe in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together, face to face. That’s why we rally women to come together in their own neighborhoods and help each other through this thing called motherhood, one gathering at a time.
Our acronym stands for “Mothers of Preschoolers” because we began in 1973 when a group of moms of young children banded together to share their lives and parenting journeys. Over the past forty-five years, MOPS has expanded our reach to include moms with older kids, partnering with churches and organizations worldwide to equip and encourage moms in more than 60 countries.”
