Reverend EMILY RETTINGHOUSE

Emily Rettinghouse (she/her) is a Montana native, born and raised in Laurel, MT.

Emily graduated from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota, where she majored in Human Services and minored in Psychology in 2017. She received her Master of Divinity from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois in 2020.

While in the ordination process, she served as an Elisha Intern at Spearfish UMC in South Dakota; chaplain in the NorthShore hospital system in the greater Chicago area; and associate pastor at Prince of Peace UMC in Elk Grove, IL.

Recently serving as Pastor at Cody UMC in Cody, WY, she also volunteered as a police chaplain for the Cody police department. Emily serves on several UMC camp boards as well as conference-level committees. She was ordained as an Elder in Full Connection in the Mountain Sky Conference in 2022.

In 2025, Emily was appointed to Hope UMC in Billings, MT. Having family still in Laurel and Lockwood, she is grateful to be back in the 406. While in full-time ministry, she also works per diem as a hospital chaplain at Billings Clinic. Her passions are pastoral care, worship, teaching, youth, and community engagement. 

In her spare time, Emily enjoys being with her kids, trivia, playing drums, baking, ceramics, and being outdoors. She is so excited to serve alongside the wonderful people of Hope UMC Billings Heights!
